Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup Brussels sprouts, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 package dumpling wrappers round or square
- Water for sealing dumplings
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
Pulse the shrimp in a food processor until they are very small pieces
Put the chopped shrimp, minced garlic and ginger, finely chopped Brussels sprouts, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper in a bowl
To make the dumpling filling, mix it well
Put a scoop of the filling in the middle of a dumpling wrapper
Wet your finger and run it along the edges of the seal
Press the edges of the wrapper together to seal the dumpling
Fold the wrapper in half to make a half-moon shape
Do it again with the rest of the filling and wrappers
Put the vegetable oil in a big skillet and heat it over medium-high heat
Make sure the dumplings dont touch each other when you put them in the hot pan
Let them cook for two to three minutes, or until the bottoms turn golden brown
Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and cover it right away
The dumplings should be steamed for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through and the wrappers become clear
Take off the lid and cook the dumplings for another two to three minutes, or until the bottoms get crispy again
Serve hot with the sauce of your choice
