Gluten-Free Vegan Chickpea Flour Challah

This gluten-free vegan chickpea flour challah is a delicious alternative to traditional challah bread. Its made with wholesome ingredients like chickpea flour and ground flaxseed, and its perfect for those following a gluten-free or vegan diet.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups chickpea flour
  • 1/2 cup tapioca flour
  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup raisins optional, for topping

Instructions:

Ground flaxseed, instant yeast, coconut sugar, salt, and chickpea flour should all be mixed together in a large bowl

Mix the dry ingredients with the apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and warm water

Mix until everything is well mixed and a dough forms

For about 5 minutes, knead the dough until it is smooth and springy

Place the dough in a warm area and cover it

Let it rise for one to two hours, or until it doubles in size

Before you start cooking, heat the oven to 375F 190C

Make three equal pieces of dough and roll each one into a long rope

Make a challah loaf by braiding the ropes together

The braided challah should be put on a baking sheet that has parchment paper on it

You can add raisins to the challah if you want to

After the oven is hot, bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked

Take it out of the oven and let it cool down before cutting it up and serving
